Bijzonderheden:
Aan de weg van Merchtem naar Peizegem staat de romp van de Koutermolen. Het is een stenen bergmolen, gebouwd in 1876 ter vervanging van een standaardmolen die al in 1406 bestond en op 12 maart 1876 omwaaide. De molen werd op 10 september 1914 in brand gestoken door de Belgische soldaten bij de inval van de Duitsers. Sindsdien mist de molen zijn wiekenkruis en werd er enkel met de motor gemalen. Na het overlijden van de laatste molenaar René De Block (die de molen in 1933 had aangekocht) ligt alle bedrijvigheid stil.
