Der Haussperling (Passer domesticus) – auch Spatz genannt – ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Sperlinge (Passeridae) und einer der bekanntesten und am weitesten verbreiteten Singvögel. Der Spatz ist ein Kulturfolger und hat sich vor über 10.000 Jahren dem Menschen angeschlossen. Nach zahlreichen, teils beabsichtigten, teils unbeabsichtigten Einbürgerungen ist er mit Ausnahme der Tropen fast überall anzutreffen, wo Menschen sich das ganze Jahr aufhalten. Der weltweite Bestand wird auf etwa 500 Millionen Individuen geschätzt. Nach deutlichen Bestandsrückgängen in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts vor allem im Westen Mitteleuropas wurde die Art in die Vorwarnliste bedrohter Arten aufgenommen.
Le Moineau domestique (Passer domesticus) est une espèce de petits passereaux très communs dans la plupart des parties du globe : originaire du bassin méditerranéen et d´une grande partie de l´Asie, ce moineau a été introduit accidentellement ou volontairement dans beaucoup d´autres régions du monde, en faisant l´oiseau à l´aire de répartition la plus vaste. Il côtoie largement l´humain avec lequel il entretient souvent une forte relation de commensalisme. C´est un oiseau assez trapu, massif, au plumage en teintes de brun et de gris. Il se nourrit majoritairement de céréales et autres graines, mais sait s´adapter et tirer profit d´autres opportunités, consommant divers invertébrés, les insectes en premier lieu, qui servent par ailleurs d´alimentation de base aux oisillons.
The House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a bird of the sparrow family Passeridae, found in most parts of the world. One of about 25 species in the genus Passer, the House Sparrow occurs naturally in most of Europe, the Mediterranean region, and much of Asia. Its intentional or accidental introductions to many regions, including parts of Australia, Africa, and the Americas, make it the most widely distributed wild bird. The House Sparrow is strongly associated with human habitations, and can live in urban or rural settings. Though found in widely varied habitats and climates, it typically avoids extensive woodlands, grasslands, and deserts away from human development. A small bird, it has a length of 16 centimetres (6.3 in) and a weight of 24–39.5 grams (0.85–1.39 oz). Females and young birds are coloured pale brown and grey, and males have brighter black, white, and brown markings. The House Sparrow feeds mostly on the seeds of grains and weeds, and insects, and can perform complex and unusual tasks to obtain food. The predators of the House Sparrow include domestic cats, hawks, owls, and many other predatory birds and mammals.
De huismus (Passer domesticus) is een kleine zangvogel die samen met ongeveer twintig andere mussensoorten zoals de ringmus, behoort tot de familie Passeridae. De huismus eet voornamelijk zaden en insecten. De zang van het vogeltje beperkt zich doorgaans tot getjilp. De huismus beweegt zich vliegend of hippend voort. De mus is een standvogel: hij blijft doorgaans rond dezelfde plek wonen. Het mannetje is duidelijk te onderscheiden van het vrouwtje, omdat de eerste zwarter en bruiner getekend is (zie foto).
