The fly agaric or fly amanita (Amanita muscaria)
Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita, is a poisonous mushroom of the genus Amanita. It is one of the best known poisonous fungi, although fatal poisoning is rare. It may be confused with a very similar royal fly agaric (Amanita regalis), which is also poisonous. Less likely, but also possible, is confusion with Caesar’s mushroom (Amanita caesarea), which is edible but rare and protected in the Czech Republic.

The mushroom occurs rarely in lowlands and hills in deciduous forests on alkaline substrates in areas of thermophilic flora.
