Tanti auguri! Die am 25. November 1923 eröffnete Bahnstrecke feiert Jubiläum. Die dazugehörige Sondermarke zeigt die «Centovallina» mit einem weiteren Shootingstar: der Stahlbrücke bei Intragna, einem der meistfotografierten Motive der Bahnlinie.
Talauf, talab pendelt die Centovalli-Bahn seit 100 Jahren zwischen der Schweiz und Italien: von Locarno durch das Centovalli bis nach Domodossola. Der bei Touristinnen und Touristen beliebte Zug in Weiss- Blau legt die 52 Kilometer lange Strecke in rund zwei Stunden zurück.
Die «Centovallina», so der italienische Name der Bahn, fährt durch tiefe Schluchten vorbei an hübschen Dörfern oder rauschenden Wasserfällen und überquert insgesamt 83 Brücken. Eine davon ist die auf der gummierten Sondermarke abgebildete Stahlbrücke «Ponte di ferro» über dem Wildbach Isorno. Hinter dem beliebten Fotosujet zeigt sich der Ortskern von Intragna, der Hauptort des Tals, mit einem weiteren Blickfang: Der 65 Meter hohe Glockenturm darf sich höchster Kirchturm des Kanton Tessins nennen.
Das Motiv mit Postkarten-Charakter ist von einer goldenen Schrift umrahmt, die der Festlichkeit des Jubiläums Ausdruck verleiht. Der Textfluss, der die Briefmarke umrandet, sorgt für eine kontinuierliche Leseart und bildet somit eine in sich geschlossene Strecke – als abstraktes Symbol für eine Zugstrecke. Das Design im Vintage-Stil soll wiederum an die Gründungszeiten erinnern, auf die im Jubiläumsjahr zurückgeblickt wird, und nostalgische Gefühle wecken. Die Feierlichkeiten starten am 25. November und dauern ein Jahr an. Auf weitere 100 Jahre!
Tanti auguri! Nous fêtons l’anniversaire de cette ligne de chemin de fer ouverte le 25 novembre 1923 avec un timbre spécial représentant la «Centovallina», accompagnée d’une autre star: le pont métallique situé près d’Intragna, l’un des sujets les plus photographiés sur ce parcours ferroviaire.
Empruntant un itinéraire tout en montées et descentes à travers les Centovalli, cette ligne relie depuis 100 ans la Suisse et l’Italie, de Locarno à Domodossola. Le train bleu et blanc, très prisé des touristes, effectue le parcours de 52 km en près de deux heures.
La «Centovallina» (sa désignation locale en italien) traverse des gorges profondes parsemées de cascades rugissantes, longe de ravissants villages et emprunte 83 ponts. Le plus photogénique de ces ouvrages, le «Ponte di ferro», qui enjambe le torrent Isorno, figure sur le timbre spécial gommé. À l’arrière-plan se trouve le centre d’Intragna, principale localité de la vallée, où le clocher de 65 mètres, le plus haut de tout le Tessin, constitue une autre attraction.
Présenté à la manière d’une carte postale, le sujet est encadré par un lettrage doré évoquant l’esprit festif de l’anniversaire qu’il célèbre. Le texte qui borde le timbre assure la continuité dans la lecture et crée ainsi un circuit fermé qui se veut être un symbole abstrait du trajet en train. Le style volontairement vintage renvoie quant à lui à l’époque de la création de la ligne ferroviaire aujourd’hui centenaire et exhale un doux parfum de nostalgie. Les festivités autour de cet anniversaire débuteront le 25 novembre et dureront un an. Longue vie au chemin de fer Centovalli!

Tanti auguri! Quest’anno la tratta ferroviaria Vigezzina-Centovalli inaugurata il 25 novembre 1923 festeggia il suo centenario. Il francobollo speciale a lei dedicato mostra la «Centovallina» insieme a un’altra grande attrazione: il ponte di ferro di Intragna, tra i luoghi più fotografati della linea ferroviaria.
Su e giù per i monti, ormai sono 100 anni che la «Centovallina» fa la spola tra la Svizzera e l’Italia, da Locarno a Domodossola passando per le Centovalli. Il treno bianco e blu, molto amato dai turisti, copre la tratta di 52 chilometri in circa 2 ore.
La «Centovallina», chiamata «Vigezzina» al di là dal confine, attraversa in tutto 83 ponti, sferragliando tra gole profonde, costeggiando paesini incantevoli e fragorose cascate. Uno di questi è il ponte di ferro sul torrente Isorno, raffigurato sul francobollo speciale gommato e immortalato in dipinti e fotografie fin dalla sua costruzione. Dietro si intravede il centro storico di Intragna, capoluogo delle Centovalli, dove spicca il campanile di 65 metri, il più alto di tutto il Canton Ticino.
Il motivo, che ricorda una cartolina postale, è incorniciato da una scritta dorata che simboleggia i festeggiamenti in occasione dell’anniversario. Il testo è disposto lungo il perimetro del francobollo in modo da consentire la lettura ininterrotta, che allude in termini astratti a una tratta ferroviaria chiusa. A sua volta, lo stile vintage vuole richiamare l’epoca della fondazione, risvegliando un senso di nostalgia. I festeggiamenti iniziano il 25 novembre e dureranno un anno. Che siano di buon auspicio per altri 100 anni di storia!

Tanti auguri! Inaugurated on 25 November 1923, the railway line is celebrating its anniversary. The accompanying special stamp depicts the “Centovallina” with another high flyer: the steel bridge near the village of Intragna, one of the most photographed subjects along the railway line.
Up and down the valleys, the Centovalli Railway has been shuttling between Switzerland and Italy for 100 years now, from Locarno through the Centovalli valley to Domodossola. Decked in white and blue and popular among tourists, this train covers the 52-kilometre route in around two hours.
The “Centovallina”, as the railway is named in Italian, runs through deep gorges past pretty villages and rushing waterfalls, crossing a total of 83 bridges as it goes. One of these is featured on the gummed special stamp – the “Ponte di ferro” steel bridge over the Isorno mountain torrent. Behind the popular photo subject is the center of Intragna, the valley’s principal town, with another eye-catching feature: at 65 metres, the bell tower can take pride in its claim to be the highest church tower in the Canton of Ticino.
The design, in the style of a postcard, is framed by golden lettering, giving expression to the anniversary celebrations. The flow of text bordering the stamp can be read continuously around its length, the words forming a self-contained chain − an abstract symbol of a railway line. With its vintage style, the design also aims to recall the period in which the line was established, which we are reflecting on in the anniversary year, and to prompt feelings of nostalgia. The celebrations start on 25 November and will last for a year. Here’s to another 100 years!
