I^ MOSTRA NAZIONALE D'ARTE CONTEMPORANEA

***La ripresa delle attività espositive della Permanente dopo le devastazioni della seconda guerra mondiale, che comportarono l'inagibilità del palazzo dell'ente e la sua ricostruzione, avvenne già nel 1946 con l'impegno di rilanciare l'Esposizione Nazionale di Belle Arti. Nel periodo fascista questa importante iniziativa, derivante dalle ottocentesche mostre annuali dell'Accademia di Brera e, dal 1908, svoltesi a cadenza biennale presso la sede della Permanente con un coinvolgimento sempre più concreto della nostra istituzione, era stata totalmente assorbita dalle esposizioni sindacali. Il Sindacato Fascista di Belle Arti aveva ottenuto anche l'interruzione delle mostre sociali della Permanente. Al termine del conflitto bellico la nostra società provvide a effettuare un computo dei soci artisti ancora attivi e cominciò a lavorare alla mostra in concorso con l'Accademia di Brera e con le associazioni Famiglia Artistica e Famiglia Meneghina. Il titolo scelto, non a caso, fu Prima Mostra Nazionale d'Arte contemporanea annuale "Aprile milanese"***
