Adrien Holy, peintre suisse, naît en 1898 à St-Imier et meurt en 1978 à Genève. C’est un artiste qui fait partie des représentants suisses romands de la peinture figurative. La majorité de ses œuvres sont des scènes figuratives et des portraits. Ses peintures à l’huile se caractérisent surtout par leurs couleurs vives et puissantes.

Adrien Holy se forme à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Genève. A partir des années 1920 jusqu’au début de la deuxième guerre mondiale il travaille à Paris comme peintre. Il expose régulièrement en France et en Suisse. Durant cette période, il travaille aussi comme dessinateur publicitaire et de textiles ainsi que comme décorateur de théâtre. En 1939, il déménage à Genève où il gagne sa vie en tant que peintre. Dans les années 1960, il enseigne à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Genève et collabore à l’Exposition nationale à Lausanne en 1964. En 1971, il reçoit le Prix culturel de la ville de Genève.
