1871, Freimarke 20 Centimes mit Netzwerk mit Spitzen nach oben, entwertet "METZ BAHNHOF 13 7 71", zusammen mit Frankreich Ceres 20 C. (rechts unten ein Zahn etwas kürzer), entwertet "STRASBOURG 13 JUIL 71", als Mischfrankatur auf waagerecht gefaltetem Faltbrief mit diversen Alterungs- und Beförderungsspuren, welcher nach Marseille gelaufen ist. Solche Mischfrankaturen waren nötig, da anfangs die Elsass-Lothringen-Marken in Frankreich nicht anerkannt wurden.
